"Housework......who needs it! You get your house all clean...............six months later, you have to do it again."
- Joan Rivers
This is one of my favorite jokes! I must confess, at times it is close to reality. Today, however, I cleaned some of my house that I've been putting off for a while! (notice I said SOME) I have just one helpful hint (no, not napalm!) for myself mostly.....just picture in your mind how nice it will look when you're done! (And with that goes the warm fuzzy feeling of accomplishment) (I need to get a life!) (And a maid)
A place to complain about anything and everything, so you won't annoy your family or your spouse! (my husband said I needed to do this!)

Politics as usual
Here's my take on the election coming up in 2012. I think it's going to come down to Romney and Obama. Here's why: 1. The New Hampshire Primary election. By New Hampshire law, they have the first primary elections in the country. In New Hampshire they allow voters who have not declared their party affiliation to vote in any primary election. This means that even though a person votes traditionally as a democrat, if they have not declared they are a democrat, they can vote in the republican primary and republican leaning voters can vote in the democrat primary. This produces the incentive to vote for the other side's perceived worst candidate. The one the most people on the other side would hate or who would have a the toughest time in a national campaign.
The democrats did this with John McCain in the 2008 election year. Republicans did this back to them by....oh, wait...the republicans aren't tricky enough to do it back to the dems. In the interest of full disclosure, I'm a registered republican, but only because the Constitution Party hasn't gathered enough steam, yet to produce a viable candidate, but I digress.
2. The other reason Romney will win in the primary election is what's called a "committeeman". A "committeman" is: according to Websters, "the leader of a political ward or precinct". Which means (the short version) the person who gets to pick the candidates who will appear on the ballot. For a more complete explanation, check out eagleforum.org and do a search (I can't do everything for you!). If you are wondering why it's been difficult to nearly impossible to get a great conservative candidate on the ballot, blame the committeemen! Traditionally, there have been far more liberals than conservatives in these very important positions. Unless the tea party has been able to place enough conservatives in committeemen positions, we will be stuck with yet another RINO.
3. Romney made a deal with RNC last election and with McCain. It basically went like this: "I'll release my delegates this time, then next election will be my turn to be the candidate." (Playground politics....same thing happens in Kindergarten all the time.)
Having said all that, I actually like Mitt Romney. I saw what his leadership did for the Olympics in Salt Lake City. He's a nice man, with a nice family. I still think he's a RINO, but I believe he would govern as a RINO light. At least he doesn't hate us all, just for being Americans.

Waste of FAT Space
I finally finished a painting I've been working on for 2 years!! Actually, it only took me one year to paint it (only?) because I stared at the blank canvas for a whole year. (I know, it's pathetic.) (the voice in my head is saying..."I said you were a waste of FAT space"!) I think I won't paint another big canvas in the near future. I know the art collectors of the world are absolutely gasping in horror at the announcement of my not painting a large canvas, but it's just too hard on my sensitive nerves! I think I'll go back to painting rocks!

Winter in St. Anthony
It's winter in St.Anthony
And the gentle breezes blow,
70 miles per hour at 52 below!
Oh, how I love St.Anthony
When the snow's up to your butt;
You take a breath of winter air
And your nose is frozen shut.
Yes, the weather here is wondeerful,
You may think I'm a fool.
I could never leave St.Anthony,
'Cause I'm frozen to the stool!
Not by Kay F. Harrison he put it on his FB page....he says he's not sure who wrote it. If you know the author, please let me know so proper credit can be given!!
This is a perfect example of a vent that I want on my blog!! Excellent!

Bin Laden's death
Congratulations to the military team that killed the despicable person known as Osama Bin Laden (or however you want to spell it....it doesn't really matter). As Martha Stewart would say, "It's a good thing". The military men and women who risk their lives doing what their country asks of them deserve our highest praise and thanks! Keep up the good work! The military now needs more money and more support from our anti-military President and Congress (most of them). First they need to reaffirm that this Country stands for freedom for all people around the world, then provide the support the military needs to keep the terrorists in fear. Let them know that while we as a people don't look for fights, if you provoke us, WE WILL HURT YOU! Ronald Reagan was so right when he said, "When you can't make them see the light, make them feel the heat." Amen!

Figuring out how to blog (when you have no short term memory)
OK, this is my first vent. I guess the first thing I need to decide is: what constitutes a vent and what constitutes a spew? Or is this even important? This is the way I look at it: a vent is a mild to moderate complaint and a spew is when something makes me so mad, if I don't let it out voluntarily, it will come out anyway against my will and usually in a totally inappropriate place and perhaps with a bit of salty language!
Back to the vent. I just hate it when the other kids are smarter than me! I'm talking about technology. Just as soon as I think I've learned a few things and think I'm catching up, BAM, some other gadget comes along that makes me feel all old again and behind the times. Just writing this vent makes me feel old. - I can remember manual typewriters for corn sakes! I'm almost ashamed to say, I know what DOS was. My first computer screen was a little old tiny TV screen! I had to walk to school in 5 feet of snow and it was uphill both ways and I pushed my handcart tied to my mule.... OK, that last one was a lie (but my kids believe it).
So, this is my blog for all of you who like to complain about anything and everything, but are polite enough not to want to annoy your spouse or children or your dog, etc. This is the right place! (for venting and spewing!) I may even have contests when I figure out how to manage my blog. I want you....to post on my blog. Send me your tired (complaints) your poor (spelling). Stand up for your right to complain. Make it loud, make it proud. Let's keep it fairly civil, but you can say just about anything you want about career politicians, because they deserve our wrath.

Welcome
Welcome to my blog!
I hope this will become a forum for people to voice their concerns and to tell about things that are bothering them. I'd like to keep this from being too negative, though, so let's all vow to write on here 2 positives for every negative, if that's possible. I gripe a lot, which is why my husband suggested I start this blog. His comment was, "You may not realize it, but you complain a lot, so you should do a blog for everyone to complain on." He was actually very gentle and kind when he said it! He's a good man! He helps me take a look at myself from time to time, which is good, but sometimes very unpleasant!! He inspires me to strive to be a better person. My purpose here (even though it's called vent and spew) is to have fun, share our experiences and thoughts, maybe even to help each other in our journey through life!! So in order to have fun and make people laugh, we can good naturedly complain about stuff, praise that which is good about the world and the people in it and be respectful of others.
